Hi there
Is there a way to display my own GPS tracks on a small map in my website? Like an embedded youtube video.
Cheers

Sure Forest, you can easily do that, the steps are:
- Open a trail page (e.g: Elden Loop in Arizona
http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=12125
)
- From the right hand side you'll see the option:
Embed in your website
, click on it and grab the HTML code to paste in your web site.
Code:
<iframe frameBorder="0" src="http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/spatialArtifacts.do?event=view&id=12125" width="500px" height="400px"></iframe>
Additionally if you want to show the elevation profile just below the map (like in wikiloc's home page) add the parameter:
measures=on
Code:
<iframe frameBorder="0" src="http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/spatialArtifacts.do?event=view&id=12125&measures=on" width="500px" height="400px"></iframe>
To force metric units when the language is in english (urls starting with en.wikiloc.com) add the parameter
metricunits=on
Additional parameters to show/hide additional information are:
title=on&near=on&images=on
Additionally you can choose your prefered default map type to show: "Normal Map" (streets, roads), "Satellite", "Hybrid" (a combination of Normal and Satellite) or the new "Terrain" layer by adding the
maptype
parameter:
To show the Normal Map
maptype=M
To show the Satellite use
maptype=S
For Hybrid Map use
maptype=H
For Terrain (physical) Map use
maptype=T
Websites that shows embedded trail maps:

,

or

Hope it helps!
Cheers

How can I default the View of the embedded map to Map, instead of the currently defaulted Sattelite View ?
thank you

Hi Erasmo
Thanks much for your message. Frankly I forgot to specify how to change the map type to your prefered view in the previous message (by using the maptype param)
I've updated the post to reflect it.
Best,
Jordi

thank you very much for your info :-)
another question:
can i choose the color of the track ?
it happens that by putting it in orange, it gets a little bit lost with the rest of the map (the roads are also orange or yellow)
i guess that another color, for example: blue or red, could be a more contrasting color
is this possible ?
thank you

Not at the moment, but I'm considering to add it since it has been suggested as a useful feature see: http://www.wikiloc.com/forum/posts/list/17.page
